The ASCND app ("the App") is operated by ASCND LLC ("ASCND," "we," or "us"). ASCND respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and handled when you use the ASCND mobile application. ASCND is local-first: your practice data lives on your device. ASCND operates no backend that stores it and does not sync your practice record to the cloud.

What Stays on Your Device

ASCND is local-first and built to collect as little as possible. The following is stored on your iPhone — ASCND operates no practice-data backend to receive it, and it is not synced to the cloud:

• Your onboarding, profile, practice sessions, rounds, stats, and settings.
• Practice-reminder preferences and locally scheduled notifications — no remote push, no device tokens, nothing sent off-device.
• Optional foreground location, used only to find nearby courses at the moment you search. Coordinates are processed on your device and are not stored and not transmitted off-device. You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
• Optional Apple Watch and HealthKit data, when you use watch round/workout features. Heart-rate data is handled on device to keep the round active, and ASCND may save the round as a workout in Apple Health and Activity. ASCND does not upload HealthKit data to ASCND servers and does not use it for advertising or tracking. You can manage Health permissions in iOS Settings → Health.
• A local copy of any feedback you submit through the app.

Because this data lives on your iPhone and Apple Watch, your own Apple-controlled device backup, iCloud Health setting, or encrypted computer backup may include it when you enable one; ASCND itself still uploads none of your practice. If you delete the app, or lose your device with no backup, the data on that device is gone for good — ASCND cannot recover it.

Information That Involves Third Parties

A small set of features rely on named service providers:

• Sign in with Apple — optional. ASCND has no email/password accounts and no user-account database. If you sign in, Apple provides a stable identifier (and a relay email only if you choose to share one); it is stored in your device's keychain.
• Apple Health and Activity — optional Apple Watch round/workout features may read heart rate on device and save a workout record in Apple's Health and Activity apps. Those records are managed by Apple and your iOS/watchOS settings, not an ASCND backend.
• Subscription and purchase information — subscription status and entitlement information provided by Apple, used to unlock premium features.
• Pseudonymous diagnostics — via our crash-diagnostics provider: crash reports, performance and launch timing, app screen-transition events (sampled), and metadata about ASCND's own network requests. This is keyed to a per-device identifier, not to your identity, and is used only to keep the app stable and fast — not for advertising or cross-app tracking.

ASCND runs no analytics SDK and no advertising SDK. It does not track you across apps or other companies' websites, and it does not sell data. ASCND does not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

This marketing website (ascndgolf.com) uses Cloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-respecting, cookieless measurement of page views, referrers and traffic sources, and basic page-performance metrics. It sets no cookies, does not track you across sites, and is used only to understand how the site is found and performs. This applies to the website only; the app itself adds no analytics or advertising SDK and captures no practice data for profiling or resale — its only data handling is the limited, disclosed diagnostics and Apple-managed billing described above.

If you voluntarily submit your email through a form on this website (for example, to hear about the launch or to be notified when an Android version is ready), we store that email — and your Android-interest choice — so we can contact you about ASCND and its launch. It is stored with our infrastructure provider Cloudflare (Workers KV), and the form is protected from bots by Cloudflare Turnstile. Your email is not sold, used for advertising, or shared except with the service providers needed to operate the form, and we use it only for those updates. You can ask us to remove your email at any time via the support page. This is a website email you chose to give us, and is separate from the app, which still collects no practice data.

How We Use Information

Information handled by ASCND is used only to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain app features on your device
• Manage your subscription and premium access
• Keep the app reliable and performant (crash and performance diagnostics)
• Respond to support requests you send us

ASCND does not use information for advertising purposes.

Data Sharing

ASCND does not sell personal data and does not use it for advertising.

The app relies on a small number of service providers to function:

• Apple — App Store payments and Sign in with Apple.
• A subscription-management provider — validates subscription status and entitlements to unlock premium features.
• A crash-diagnostics provider — pseudonymous crash and performance diagnostics, not linked to your identity.

Apple processes payments and Sign in with Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. The other providers provide the same or equal protection of user data as described in this policy, and use the data they handle only to provide their service to ASCND — not for their own advertising or resale.

Support Requests

When you use Contact Support or Send Feedback, ASCND opens a pre-filled email draft in your own mail app containing your message plus basic device context (app version, operating system and platform, and the screen you contacted us from). You review and send it yourself — nothing is sent automatically, and there is no ASCND server behind your practice data. ASCND may also keep a copy of the feedback you submit on your device; deleting your account (below) wipes it along with the rest of ASCND's on-device data. Emails you send reach our support inbox and are retained as business records — to resolve your request and to keep an accurate history of support and billing matters.

Data Retention

Retention follows the local-first design:

• Practice and account data — stays on your device. With Premium, it is retained until you remove it (Delete Account, below) or delete the app. On the free tier, practice and account state intentionally does not persist across launches — each launch starts fresh by design (subscription status and a few basic app records, like your theme choice, do persist). If a former Premium subscription lapses, the record you built stays readable on your device, but nothing new is added to it.
• Diagnostics — retained by our crash-diagnostics provider for a limited retention window, keyed to a per-device identifier rather than your identity.
• Support email — correspondence you send us is retained in our support inbox as a business record.
• Purchase and subscription records — retained by Apple and our subscription-management provider under their own policies.
• Apple Health and Activity records — if you use watch workout features, workout records are managed by Apple Health/Activity and your iOS/watchOS settings.
• Website email signup — kept until you ask us to remove it (see above).

Account Deletion

You can delete your data at any time from Profile → Account → Delete Account. This wipes ASCND's data on your device and signs you out. Because there is no backend account, there is nothing stored on a server to delete.

Some records remain with the providers above, outside ASCND's control:

• Apple and our subscription-management provider retain purchase and subscription records per their own policies.
• Workout records already saved in Apple Health/Activity are managed in Apple's Health/Fitness apps and may remain after ASCND local deletion.
• Our crash-diagnostics provider may retain pseudonymous diagnostics that are not tied to your identity.

Security

Your Apple sign-in credential is stored in your device's keychain, encrypted at rest, and app data is protected by iOS's built-in data protections. No method of storage is completely secure, but ASCND's local-first design means your practice record is not held on ASCND servers at all.

Do Not Track

Neither the App nor this website tracks you over time or across third-party sites, so there is no cross-site tracking to disable. ASCND does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

Children's Privacy

ASCND is not intended for children under the age of 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
