Privacy Policy
ASCND is local-first: it runs no cloud sync and has no practice-data backend, and it does not upload your practice off-device. Here's exactly what that means.

The ASCND app ("the App") is operated by ASCND LLC ("ASCND," "we," or "us"). ASCND respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and handled when you use the ASCND mobile application. ASCND is local-first: your practice data lives on your device. ASCND operates no backend that stores it and does not sync your practice record to the cloud.
ASCND is local-first and built to collect as little as possible. The following is stored on your phone — ASCND operates no practice-data backend to receive it, and it is not synced to the cloud:
Because this data lives on your phone (and Apple Watch on iOS), your own Apple- or Google-controlled device backup, iCloud Health setting, or encrypted computer backup may include it when you enable one; ASCND itself still uploads none of your practice. If you delete the app, or lose your device with no backup, the data on that device is gone for good — ASCND cannot recover it.
A small set of features rely on named service providers:
ASCND runs no analytics SDK and no advertising SDK. It does not track you across apps or other companies' websites, and it does not sell data. ASCND does not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.
This marketing website (ascndgolf.com) uses Cloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-respecting, cookieless measurement of page views, referrers and traffic sources, and basic page-performance metrics. It sets no cookies, does not track you across sites, and is used only to understand how the site is found and performs. This applies to the website only; the app itself adds no analytics or advertising SDK and captures no practice data for profiling or resale — its only data handling is the limited, disclosed diagnostics and Apple-managed billing described above.
When you tap an install link on this site — or scan the QR code — it passes through ascndgolf.com/r/… on its way to the App Store. This lets us count, in aggregate, which pages and codes lead people to download ASCND, and it adds a short campaign label to the App Store link (for example, web-home, or qr-web-home for the QR) so Apple can report how many installs came from that source. The label identifies the page, not you. We set no cookie and we do not identify you: what we keep is page-level totals that cannot be traced back to an individual visitor. As with every page on this site, the request itself passes through our infrastructure provider Cloudflare.
If you voluntarily submit your email through a form on this website (for example, to hear about the launch or to be notified when an Android version is ready), we store that email — and your Android-interest choice — so we can contact you about ASCND and its launch. It is stored with our infrastructure provider Cloudflare (Workers KV), and the form is protected from bots by Cloudflare Turnstile. Your email is not sold, used for advertising, or shared except with the service providers needed to operate the form, and we use it only for those updates. You can ask us to remove your email at any time via the support page. This is a website email you chose to give us, and is separate from the app, which still collects no practice data.
Information handled by ASCND is used only to:
ASCND does not use information for advertising purposes.
ASCND does not sell personal data and does not use it for advertising.
The app relies on a small number of service providers to function:
Apple processes App Store payments and Sign in with Apple under Apple's own privacy policy, and Google processes Google Play payments and Sign in with Google under Google's privacy policy. The other providers provide the same or equal protection of user data as described in this policy, and use the data they handle only to provide their service to ASCND — not for their own advertising or resale.
When you use Contact Support or Send Feedback, ASCND opens a pre-filled email draft in your own mail app containing your message plus basic device context (app version, operating system and platform, and the screen you contacted us from). You review and send it yourself — nothing is sent automatically, and there is no ASCND server behind your practice data. ASCND may also keep a copy of the feedback you submit on your device; deleting your account (below) wipes it along with the rest of ASCND's on-device data. Emails you send reach our support inbox and are retained as business records for up to 2 years — to resolve your request and to keep an accurate history of support and billing matters.
Retention follows the local-first design:
ASCND Golf keeps your practice and round data on your device, so deleting it is something you do in the app, and it takes effect immediately on that device. The steps are the same on iPhone and on Android:
This wipes ASCND's data on your device and signs you out. Because there is no backend account, there is nothing stored on a server to delete. You do not need to contact us first. If you would rather ask us to do it, or you no longer have the app installed, email [email protected] with the request and we will confirm what has been removed and what is held elsewhere.
What is deleted on the device you do it from: your practice sessions, rounds, stats, drill results and progress; your profile, including any profile photo; saved snapshots and any staged backup exports; the home-screen widget's copy of your data; your practice reminder settings, with any reminders already scheduled cancelled (a rare cancellation failure is retried on the next launch); the secure sign-in record the app keeps for Apple or Google Sign-In and your signed-in session; and the analytics identity the app uses, along with anything queued and not yet sent.
If you use a paired Apple Watch: deleting your account also sends the watch a request to erase its three stored items — an in-progress round, practice-session drill results, and the workout record. The watch applies it the next time it receives data from your phone. Two cases where it does not arrive: if the phone app is restarted before the watch reconnects, the fresh data it then sends replaces the pending request and the watch is not told to erase; and a watch that has been unpaired, or no longer has ASCND installed, never receives it. In those cases the items stay on the watch until a later deletion request reaches it, or until the watch is erased or unpaired, or ASCND is removed from it.
If you use a Wear OS watch: the data held on your phone for the watch connection is deleted with your account. The watch's own stored copy of data waiting to send is not erased by this flow today — it clears when you erase or unpair the watch, or remove ASCND from it. We will update this page when that changes.
What is not deleted, because it sits with the providers above, outside ASCND's control:
If you need help, you can contact support.
Your Apple sign-in credential is stored in your device's keychain, encrypted at rest, and app data is protected by iOS's built-in data protections. No method of storage is completely secure, but ASCND's local-first design means your practice record is not held on ASCND servers at all.
Neither the App nor this website tracks you over time or across third-party sites, so there is no cross-site tracking to disable. ASCND does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
ASCND is not intended for children under the age of 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
